It’s time for numero dos on the a_CROSS//the_EARTH Hillsong United album!

Listen to: No Reason To Hide

From Freedom Is Here to No Reason To Hide, it seems like the perfect transition. Freedom Is Here hits directly on the struggles, and the need that we find ourselves in every day, but most apparent when the chaos is even too much for us to have the misconception that we can handle it on our own. From there it leads us to what it takes to receive release from the bondage that is ourselves and our mess. That’s where the transition of No Reason To Hide comes in. I had mentioned, and highlighted, in the Freedom Is Here review on the lyrics “So take the limits off, No matter what the cost“, which immediately is brought back to mind when listening and worshiping to No Reason To Hide. There can be no limits, and not only that, we have NO reason to have limits. In this song the lyrics that make me shiver of chills every time I hear them is the line, “You’re alive and we are free“. Before I continue on, take a moment and read through the lyrics, and try to understand what God is wanting us to hear through these words:

We’ve got nothing to lose, we’ve got no reason to hide.
We’ve got the answer inside of us Its time we took the disguises off
We’ll see Your glory revealed, and see Your Name lifted high
Theres nobody else for us Jesus You are the only One!

Woah!
Your’e alive and we are free
You are everything, everything we need!
Woah!

There’s not a minute to waste not a second to lose
There’s a city that waits for us it’s time we took
All the lamp shades off
We’ll see Your glory revealed
And see your name lifted high
There is nobody else for us
Jesus You are the only one!

Woah!
You’re alive and we are free
You are everything, everything we need!
Woah!
Love has spoken and we believe, you are everything everything we need.
Woah!

Wo – oah
Wo – oah
Wo – oah

Nothing compares to You,
Nothing could ever seperate us now
Your love is ours

Nothing compares to You,
Nothing could ever seperate us now,
From this love

Nothing compares to You,
Nothing could ever seperate us now
Your love is ours

Woah!
You’re alive and we are free
You are everything, everything we need!
Woah!
Love has spoken and we believe, you are everything everything we need.
Woah!

Wo – oah
Wo – oah
Wo – oah

Nothing can seperate us
Nothing can come between us
Nothing can seperate us now X3

Wo – oah
Wo – oah
Wo – oah

This song is a transition of struggling to give up our own ways to actually reaching to Him and realizing that NOTHING we have, NOTHING we will receive, NOTHING that is placed in our lives, can truly separate us from God. Nothing. It’s about the beginning process of taking a hold of our faith in God and the life that He has given us through His love. The key here is His love: “Love has spoken and we believe, you are everything everything we need.” Hasn’t love always been the key though? 1 John 4:16 “God Is Love”. It’s been about love since the beginning in Genesis 1:1 to the finale in Revelation 22:21. God loves us so much that He sent His son to die for the worthless sinners who screwed up this world, you and I(John 3:16, I’m sure you’ve never heard of that scripture before). This song is about taking an ownership in recognizing this to Him. Affirming in Him that our hearts, not just our mouths understand why we have this opportunity to live an eternal life.

Musically, this song starts exactly where Freedom Is Here left off…percussion galore! I love the drums and the beat. You’ll find through the entire album that this album was taken over by powerful lyrics and mad/sick percussion solo’s. United does not slow down after the first song, yet seem to kick it up another notch to connect you in a celebration mode of acknowledging that God is who He said He was. It’s a shout of praise for moving past the bondage, and past the hiding of who we truly desire in our hearts to be, and moving into a new life of hope and freedom.

While musically wise it’s not my favorite, I love the constant shouting of the word NOTHING in this song. It’s a constant reminder that we are NOTHING without Him. Again, it’s the perfect numero dos.

Just like the previous review, take a moment now and share what you think of the song. If you love it, be sure to go HERE, and purchase the song or entire album.
